Art Expo!
Since the theme and korero for this term is Art Alive, we have been actually doing and looking at different types of art, this morning we had our schools Art Expo so all the art work we have done throughout this whole term was displayed in our classes for the school to see, Every piece of artwork we saw today was truley amazing and it was very entertaining walking through all the classes and looking at what they have done this term, since we are the oldest students and the intermediate block we had to look at all the juniors artworks and see what they have done this term.
The classes we have went in where from team 4 to 1 and all their art was very pleasing, In team 4 their art work were very cultural and looked like traditional polynesion patterns, then next where team 1, 2 and three their artworks were quite similar and all their art works where very colourful, lively and looked very fun.
My favourite part and highlight from the Art Expo was walking through my team the intermediate block because we had a lot of interesting art works with different styles and themes from every class and it was outstanding that each class had different focuses that were inspired by famous well known artist we have studied about this term in our inquiry classes and actually used their style of art to create are own.

Kate Sheppard (Essay)
Kate sheppard
Who is Kate sheppard? Kate sheppard is a well known and famous women suffragist that has influenced many people and is recognised for her fight for women’s right to vote here in New zealand, Kate shepard (Real name katherine wilson sheppard) is an emigrate who emigrated from england to new zealand and was born in 1847 and died in 1934, This essay will tell you a lot about who kate sheppard is, why she has started this protest, what she did, and the effect it has on our country and world that has changed in our society today.
Why did Kate Sheppard do this? In the 1800s women did not have a proper role or part in the society and women were strictly restricted for many things, For example in the 1800s women were not allowed to open a bank account or sell their land without the permission of their father or husband, Kate Sheppard was against these rules and believed that women did have a right and role in the society and world, Now you know why kate Sheppard did this and the the cause it had in our society to make it a grater world where women were equal with men and have the right to vote.
What did Kate Sheppard do? Kate Sheppard was very talented and used her knowledge and talent to lead and start a champaign and petition, For example Kate sheppard traveled around New zealand and other countries around the world to influence women with her plan to have the right for women to vote and started a petition that is signed by numerous individuals which will be given and addressed to the government as a request to do something that is commonly for change, Kate Sheppard needed the support to have her plan work so it took over six years for her plan to work and when it did New zealand became known as the first country for women to vote, Now you know how and what kate Sheppard did I hope her leadership and braveness will inspire you to fight for what you believe in.
The effect her petition had in our country. In 1993 she got nearly 32, 000 individuals sign her petition and was finally accepted and passed as a law in new zealand that women had the right to vote, for example Kate Sheppard nearly got 32, 000 people to sign her petition that had a great impact on our society and gave women the right to vote, and because of Kate sheppard's talent and leadership she has changed the world, Now you know the effect her petition had in our country and how it had taken years for it to work it was all worth it at the end.
Now today because of Kate Sheppard's talent and leadership with the help of other women and people, she has has became an inspiration towards people around the world and has made new zealand known for the first country in the world to have the right for women to vote, Now you have it Kate sheppard is a legend and has changed New zealand to this day.

Why do we need school?
Why do we need school?
Introduction:
Do you go to school? If you don’t kids go to school to learn, get a good career or a job in the future and to socialise with friends and people around us, Here in New Zealand it is compulsory for kids to go to school from the age of five all the way to sixteen,In every school you have a principal who is the head of the school ,and teachers to teach students who attend school, This essay will explain a lot about why we need and go to school.
Body paragraph 1:
Why is it important for children to go to school to learn? It is important for kids to learn at school because it helps them in the world and they would not always have to depend on other people to help them, For example at school we learn to read, write and also learn to do maths by learning these subjects we can be able to count money when you are going to the shop or read directions on a map and buy things in a shop, this will help you alot when you grow up and help you be an independent person.
Body paragraph 2:
Why do we have to go to school to get a job, When you go to college you can pick classes and courses to take to get a job you would like in the future or when you leave college, For example at school we learn science, Learning science can help you become a doctor if you want to become a doctor, This is why we have to go to school to get a job because it can help you get the career you want in the future.
Body paragraph 3:
We need to go to school to socialise, In school we learn to socialise by doing simple things like just talking and communicating with people around you and even participating in many school activities, For example in school when you are doing a project or working in a group you got to communicate with each other and that helps you in the future to get a job because talking and being around people can help you be confident and appropriate around people.
Conclusion:
So now that you have read my essay about why do we need school, It will help you in becoming an independent person by learning in school to get a job and to socialise with people.

Answering questions about camp!
- Today for my third blog post about camp I had to think about the questions at the bottom and then answer them these questions are about the leadership camp the year eights in my team went to last week on wednesday to friday.
- If you were to give ideas for the next year 7/8 camp what would you suggestI would suggest fun trust games where they would have to do an activity where they would have to trust eachother and work in a team.
- What would you keep I would keep all the memorys I have made there and cherish them for the rest of my life knowing that at this camp I have improved and become a young leader facing obstacles and getting out of my comfort zone to achieve great things.
- What would you stop?I would stop trying not to be shy and try to blend in with other people and hide in their shadows and lastly I would stop trying to take myself out of what is going around me and just enjoy what is happening around me well I still have these oppotunitys to strive to succeed.
- What would you add?I would add family because while we are still young we can still be around are family while we still have them around us.
- Why do we have such events?I think personaly we have these kind of events to learn and grow into good people while we are young and be mature young adults in the future, and also get out of our comfort zones by learning how to be an independent person ready for the world out there and around us.
- Talk about whare tapa whā and key competenciesTe whare tapa wha is very special to me because it always reminds me about who I am for some reason and I should treat and look after myself and people around me.
- Quick finishers could make up a programme for 2021 events.
If I could make a program for 2021 I would make a program where we could learn how to face the world and prepare us to what we will face in the future when we get older but in a good fun way so we can still enjoy being are age while we still have time.
